Harness Conversion

Quote-Based

Switching ECUs, swapping engines, or moving a harness to a different chassis? SVK Works converts existing harnesses to suit your new configuration — re-terminating, re-routing, and adding or removing circuits as required. Done properly, not cobbled together.

  • ECU swap conversions (e.g. OEM to standalone, brand-to-brand)
  • Engine swap harness adaptation
  • LHD to RHD or RHD to LHD conversion
  • Manual to automatic or automatic to manual conversion wiring
  • Proper re-termination with OEM-spec connectors
  • Full continuity test after conversion

Conversion vs. Rebuild

A harness conversion works with an existing loom as the starting point — adapting it to new requirements. This can be cost-effective when the existing harness is in good condition and the changes needed are well-defined. If the existing harness is heavily modified, damaged, or the scope of change is large, a full rebuild may be more economical. We'll assess your harness and give you an honest recommendation.

Common Questions

Conversion makes sense when the existing harness is clean, undamaged, and the changes are limited — for example, swapping an ECU plug or adapting for a different engine variant. A rebuild makes more sense when the harness has been modified by multiple people, has damaged wiring, or the conversion scope is so large that starting fresh is cleaner and more reliable.
Yes. ECU-to-ECU conversions — for example, from Haltech to MaxxECU, or from an OEM ECU to a standalone — are a common request. The ECU connector and associated circuits are re-terminated to match the new ECU's pinout. Signal types, sensor configurations, and power feeds are all verified in the process.
Yes. LHD/RHD conversions involve adapting harness routing and connector placement to suit the opposite drive side. This is particularly common with JDM imports being adapted for left-hand-drive markets, or vice versa. Contact us with your specific platform and we'll scope the work.
Remove the harness from the vehicle and ship it to us, or bring the vehicle in if you're local. Contact us first to discuss the scope — knowing what changes are needed helps us give you an accurate turnaround time and ensures we have the required connectors and materials on hand when your harness arrives.
