Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about SVK Works harnesses — ordering, compatibility, lead times, warranty, and installation.

Ordering & Process

How do I place an order?

You can configure and order directly through the product pages on our website using the harness build calculator, or contact us via the contact form or email at info@svkworks.com for a custom quote. For builds outside our standard platform harnesses — unusual swaps, custom chassis, one-off applications — reach out directly with your build details and we'll put together a quote specific to your setup.

What is the current lead time?

Current lead time is approximately 5 to 7 weeks from order confirmation and deposit receipt. Build slots are allocated in the order payments are received. If you have a hard deadline — a race event, dyno booking, or track day — contact us before ordering so we can confirm whether your timeline is achievable.

Can I return or exchange a harness?

Because all harnesses are built to order for a specific vehicle and ECU combination, they cannot be returned for a refund once production has begun. If there is a manufacturing defect or an error on our part, we will repair or replace the harness at no charge within the warranty period. Please review your order configuration carefully before confirming.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, SVK Works ships worldwide. Shipping cost and estimated transit time are calculated at checkout based on your location. Customers are responsible for any import duties or customs fees applicable in their country. If you have questions about shipping to a specific location, contact us before ordering.

Harness Quality & Materials

What wire do you use? Is it mil-spec?

All SVK harnesses are built with TXL cross-linked polyethylene wire as standard, rated to 125°C continuous. TXL is the same wire specification used in OEM automotive applications and is significantly more durable than the PVC wire found in most aftermarket harnesses — it won't crack, shrink, or degrade from heat cycling over time.

Raychem Spec 44 — the aerospace and motorsport standard rated to 150°C, substantially lighter than TXL at equivalent ampacity — is available as an upgrade on all harnesses. We always use Spec 44 near headers and turbos regardless of the overall wire spec chosen. Read more in our TXL vs Raychem Spec 44 guide.

What connectors do you use?

Platform-specific harnesses use genuine OEM-quality Sumitomo and Toyota connectors — the same style used at the factory — so everything plugs directly into the car without adapters. For ECU connectors, bulkhead pass-throughs, and key junction points, we use Deutsch DT and DTM series sealed connectors: mil-spec rated, vibration resistant, and fully serviceable. We do not use cheap aftermarket connector kits or generic automotive connectors for critical circuits.

Does the harness include a wiring diagram?

Yes. Every SVK Works harness ships with a wiring diagram specific to your build — showing wire colors, circuit labels, connector pinouts, and integration points. This makes installation straightforward and troubleshooting simple years down the road. We also maintain a library of free wiring resources on our website for common platforms.

Do you offer the MIL-Spec Autosport connector upgrade?

Yes. The MIL-Spec Autosport connector with metal firewall mounting plate is available as an add-on for all platform harnesses. It provides a sealed, locking, serviceable bulkhead pass-through between the engine bay and cabin — the same connector style used in professional motorsport builds. Add it to your order or purchase separately.

ECU & Compatibility

Which ECU brands do SVK harnesses support?

SVK Works builds harnesses for all major standalone ECU platforms including:

  • Haltech Elite Series and Nexus
  • Link G4X and G4+
  • MaxxECU Race and Street
  • ECU Masters EMU Black and EMU Pro
  • AEM Infinity and Series 2
  • Motec M1 series
  • MegaSquirt MS3 and MS3Pro

Specify your ECU when ordering and the harness will be pinned and wired to match your exact unit. Read our guide on choosing the right ECU for your 2JZ build if you're still deciding.

Can you build for my ECU if it's not listed?

Yes. The ECUs shown on product pages are the most commonly requested, but we build for any standalone ECU platform as long as a pinout is available. Contact us before ordering with your ECU model and we'll confirm compatibility and any additional information we need.

Are SVK harnesses truly plug and play?

Yes. SVK harnesses are designed to connect directly to your chassis wiring without cutting or modifying the factory loom. On platform-specific harnesses — MK4 Supra, MK3 Supra, SC300/SC400 — all OEM chassis connectors are retained so your gauges, AC, lights, and accessories work exactly as they should. You remove the factory engine harness, install the SVK harness, plug into the chassis, connect to your ECU, and tune.

Will the harness support AC, power steering, and factory gauges?

Yes. SVK platform harnesses are designed for full chassis integration. For MK4 Supra, MK3 Supra, and SC300/SC400 harnesses, the following are handled:

  • Gauge cluster signals — tachometer, speedometer, coolant temp, fuel level
  • AC compressor control and HVAC integration
  • Power steering pressure switch
  • Fan control (electric or factory belt-driven)
  • Alternator charge circuit
  • Starter circuit

Specify at order time if you want to delete any specific systems (AC delete, cruise delete, etc.) and the harness will be built accordingly.

Warranty & Support

What does the SVK Works warranty cover?

All SVK Works harnesses and products carry a 1-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship from the date of delivery. This covers manufacturing defects, connector failures, or wiring faults attributable to the build process.

The warranty does not cover damage from improper installation, vehicle accidents, water ingress from external sources, or modifications made to the harness after delivery. Contact us at info@svkworks.com with your order number and a description of the issue.

Do you offer installation support?

Yes. We provide installation support for all SVK harnesses. If you run into a question during installation or have a concern after the car is running, reach out via email or Instagram and we'll help troubleshoot. We also have a growing library of wiring diagrams and technical resources available free on the Resources page.

How quickly do you respond to inquiries?

We typically respond to all inquiries within 24 hours on business days. For the fastest response, use the contact form or email info@svkworks.com. You can also reach us via Instagram DM at @svk_works.
